Botox, also known as anti-wrinkle injections, is the most commonly requested treatment here at my skincare clinic in Portadown, Fresh Aesthetics.
Anti-wrinkle treatment or Botox is carried using the protein, Botulinum Toxin. Botox injections relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, eg crows feet and frown lines. This gives us a happier, more relaxed and fresh appearance!
The effect caused by Botox is not permanent, usually lasting around 3-4 months. The treatment gradually wears off over this time as the muscles slowly return to normal strength.
It is important to note that Botox does not treat the skin directly, therefore deeper, static wrinkles won’t disappear completely. However they do get softer over time with repeated anti-wrinkle treatments, particularly if carried out alongside other skin improvement services.
The anti-wrinkle injections themselves only take a few minutes to perform. However at my Fresh Aesthetics clinics, I always allow plenty of time for a full consultation and never rush any of my skincare treatments.
There are potential risks with any medical intervention, and anti-wrinkle injections are no exception. This is why it is vitally important to only used a registered healthcare professional. I always fully explain risks to my patients and carry out my Botox treatments in a way to minimise these risks.
