Wedding skin prep - a timeline for glowing skin on your big day
Your wedding day is one of the most photographed days of your life, and naturally, you’ll want to look and feel your absolute best. The secret to radiant, healthy skin on your wedding day? Starting early! For brides, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride/groom, the best results come from a carefully planned skincare and treatment journey that begins at least one year in advance.
Why You Should Start a Year Before Your Wedding
Great skin doesn’t happen overnight, and medical-grade skincare and advanced treatments take time to work their magic. By starting at least 12 months before the wedding, we can create a custom treatment plan to address any concerns, allowing for the most natural, long-lasting results. This is even more important if you have any skin issues such as acne or rosacea as these take time to heal. We want to ensure that your skin is at its healthiest and glowing by the time you walk down the aisle!
Your Year-Long Wedding Skin Prep Timeline
12 Months Before – Consultation & Skincare Routine
Book your initial consultation to assess your skin concerns and goals.
Start a medical-grade skincare routine to improve skin health, hydration, and texture. Active ingredients like retinol, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid will build collagen and enhance your glow.
If there are more signs of ageing, a few initial microneedling sessions will kickstart your collagen and improve skin texture, reducing fine lines, scarring, and uneven tone.
9-6 Months Before – Wrinkle Smoothing & Volume Enhancement
Botox: If you want to soften fine lines and wrinkles, have a trial session of anti-wrinkle treatment. This allows us to get your dosing just right for the big day
Dermal fillers: If you're considering subtle volume restoration (cheeks, lips, jawline), begin this early as we may need repeat treatments (especially true for older patients).
6-3 Months Before – Hydration & Rejuvenation. A combination of these 3 treatments works best:
Skin boosters & Profhilo: Deep hydration and collagen stimulation will enhance skin firmness and elasticity. 2-3 sessions are needed, 1 month apart
Chemical peels: Help resurface the skin, reducing pigmentation, dullness, and uneven tone. These can be done at 2-weekly intervals if required.
Continue microneedling sessions to boost collagen production and improve skin texture. These are done at 2-4 weekly intervals.
3-2 Months Before – Refinement Phase
Final microneedling session for that last collagen boost.
Last Profhilo or skin booster session for peak hydration and glow.
6-4 Weeks Before – The Final Prep
Last Botox treatment (if needed) to smooth any remaining lines before the big day. Some brides (& grooms) also book a hyperhidrosis treatment to ensure there are no embarrassing sweat marks in the photos!
Last chemical peel (4 weeks before) to avoid any redness or peeling too close to the wedding.
Stick to your medical-grade skincare routine – no new products!
1 Week Before – Ultimate Glow Boost
Stop your tretinoin to ensure no peeling, redness on the big day
Exfoliation with Bright & Clear the night before your wedding day for that flawless finish
Keep skin calm and hydrated – avoid harsh treatments or last-minute experiments!
The Key to Bridal-Perfect Skin: Start Early!
The earlier you start your skincare and treatment journey, the more time we have to achieve flawless, glowing skin. We find that our mothers of the bride/groom generally have more signs of ageing, therefore may need more treatments.
